INTERNATIONAL LEGAL ASPECTS OF ENERGY COOPERATION BETWEEN THE RUSSIAN FEDERATION AND THE EUROPEAN UNION IN THE CONTEXT OF SANCTIONS

This article examines the issues of interaction in the energy sector between the Russian Federation and the European Union. The main legal documents influencing the interaction of the parties in this area are analyzed. The article also addresses the prospects for a long-term interstate energy policy aimed at ensuring stable energy supplies to the countries of the European Union, improving the quality of life of the population of the Russian Federation and European countries, examines options that ensure the diversification of energy supplies to European countries and the affordability of energy supply for the end-user. Issues related to the energy security of the Russian Federation and the EAEU countries are studied, the activities of the EAEU countries are analyzed to create a common energy market that meets the needs of the population of these countries in various types of fuel and energy resources and, also, to solve environmental and legal problems that impede the improvement of the environment.
