THE FACTORS OF THE CITY SPACE SOCIAL STRUCTURING (ON THE EXAMPLE OF CAR SHARING)

The article analyzes the processes of structuring the social space of a modern city on the example of the development of car-sharing technology and established social practices, emphasizes its essence as a public good. The use of car sharing is designed to ease the traffic congestion on the roads of agglomerations and improve the environmental situation in the city. The paper
analyzes the car-sharing market in St. Petersburg and provides an assessment of the possibilities for its development. Based on the material of a sociological survey, a conclusion is made about consumer preferences and the consolidation of everyday user practices in the context of the emerging new elements of the structure of urban life.
