HISTORY OF DEVELOPMENT OF COMMERCIAL EDUCATION IN RUSSIA IN THE SECOND HALF OF XIX – EARLY XX CENTURY. STATE POLICY AND THE ROLE OF PRIVATE BUSINESS

Abstract:

The article deals with the historical trends and traditions of Commercial Education
in tsarist Russia. The author uses in this regard the experience of European countries.
The role of the state, employers and the public interest in the preparation of qualified
personnel in the rapid development of capitalist industry and commerce in the second
half XIX – early XX century are shown. Gives examples of educational institutions,
public schools and the ones functioned at the expense of employers and society. Marks
the values of historical experience gained in the development of education in Russia
for the present time.
