Graduated from Novosibirsk State University with the specialization in history in 1986, defended kandidatskaya (1990) and doctoral (2004) dissertations in the Institute of Archaeology and Ethnography, Siberian Branch, Russian Academy of Sciences (Novosibirsk), conducted excavations in the Russian Far East, Mongolia and Ecuador, presented courses of lectures in the universities in the USA, Canada, Japan and Colombia, published more than 400 articles including 25 from Scopus/Web of Science data bases, successfully performed as the scientific leader of the projects supported by Russian Foundation for Humanities, Russian Foundation for Basic Researches and Russian Science Foundation.
