«NORMANDY FORMAT» IN THE SETTLEMENT OF THE CRISIS IN UKRAINE

The article describes the role of the "Normandy format" in the settlement of the crisis in the south-east of Ukraine. A comparative historical analysis of the events in the course of the Ukrainian conflict from 2014 to 2021 within the framework of the “Normandy Four” is given. The stages of interaction of the countries participating in the “Normandy format” which involve such states as the Russian Federation, the Federal Republic of Germany, France and Ukraine are also considered. The protocol, agreements and other documents implemented within the framework of the diplomatic contact group of the "Normandy Four" are analyzed. It should be noted that the crisis in Ukraine is viewed by all parties as a conflict taking place within one country - Ukraine. “Normandy format” guided exclusively by diplomatic methods and the norms of international law calls on all participants in this crisis to come to a common denominator.
