THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE ANGLO-AMERICAN RELATIONS IN THE SECOND HALF OF 1940 AND THE ‘SPECIAL RELATIONS’ FORMATION

This article discusses Anglo-American ‘special relations’, their origin and development during the raids of German aviation on the U.K. in the second half of 1940. The role of the US foreign policy transformation and the German factor is analyzed. The main source for this article is the recording of political speeches, the correspondence between Roosevelt and Churchill, the data of the US public polls and statistical information.
