Abstract:

The article deals with the history of the formation and activities of partisan groups
in the occupied territory of the North-West of Russia in 1941–1944. The author
distinguishes three main groups of partisan groups and gives a description of each of
them, pointing out that the partisan movement developed unevenly in various districts
of the North-West of Russia. As a result, the author concludes that the historical merit
of the partisan movement during the Great Patriotic War is organization of union
resistance of the masses into the enemy's rear.
