TO A QUESTION ON THE REPRESENTATION OF THE HISTORY OF THE FIRST WORLD WAR: THE STORY OF EVERYDAY LIFE IN MUSEUM EXPOSITIONS

The article explains the need to address the history of the First World War in the
aspect of everyday life of civilians. The Author criticizes the representation of considered
event in terms of only a diplomatic or military history. The importance of the
history of everyday life for the understanding of the significance of global events for
a particular country is represented by the example of two museum exhibitions: "Russia
in the Great War" in the Martial Chamber of in Tsarskoye Selo and «Der Erste
Weltkrieg 1914-1918», at the German Historical Museum (DHM) in Berlin .
