Abstract:

The article is aimed at presenting the evolution in approaches to teaching foreign languages at higher educational technical institutes and a short survey of purposes and problems of adult education. The particular attention is paid to the necessity of teaching foreign languages and achieving tolerance for a successful adaptation of adults in modern society.
