HISTORICAL EVOLUTION OF OPERATIONAL RISK IN COMMERCIAL BANKING

In this paper historical evolution of operational risk category is considered and
qualitatively analyzed. Main trends leading to changes in major approaches to
operational risk management are highlighted. Dates of main events and publications
are provided. Conclusions about origin, rising and future directions of operational risk
category evolution are shown.
