GERMAN QUESTION AND THE FINNISH FOREIGN POLICY OF NEUTRALITY IN THE COLD WAR

Abstract:

Article is devoted to the German direction of Finland’s foreign policy during the
Cold War. The influence of tensions over geopolitical problem of the division of
Germany after the end of WW2 on the Finnish policy of neutrality during the years
1955 – 1973 is analyzed. Author examines the background of the two Berlin crises
1958, 1961 and its link to the main rifts in affairs between Finland and USSR in the
following years.
