The driving force of globalization is the struggle for survival. The correlation of
leadership and backwardness communities as relations of domination and
subordination is analyzed. The thesis about the transition to universal continuous war
is settled. International terrorism is considered as a specific form of struggle between
societies in the context of globalization. It is believed that modern war by its nature
evolves to terror, with the aim of intimidating the population and the distraction of

in resolution of international conflicts (on the example of the Iraq crisis 2002-2004). It
is shown that during this crisis decisions were made not on the basis of interest in
maintaining peace, and on a block basis, which ultimately played a very negative role,
which confirms the need to reform the current system of international security.

The article considers the evolution of Finnish economic and social model from the
point of view of path dependence theory. It can be perceived differently depending on
the period of the country’s economic development. It is seen both as an example of
overcoming path dependence, dynamic change towards new development model as
was demonstrated in the end on 20th century, and as an illustration of some inertia in
development, being stuck on the track – somewhat we can clearly witness within
contemporary Finnish venture finance market.

The question of language – an important part of the ideology of Ukrainophilism
XIX century, which in general corresponds to the teachings of regionalism. The article
looks at the example of M.Р. Dragomanova and B.A. Kistyakovsky considered in
relation to the ideologues Ukrainophilism to Russian, Ukrainian languages and
perspectives of all-Russian language. Transformation of teaching Ukrainophiles
walked in the direction of the all-Russian refusal of language and culture, recognition
of exclusivity and uniqueness of the Ukrainian language and culture, as well as the
marginalization of the Russian language. As an alternative point of view is the opinion
of P.B. Struve expressed in the early twentieth century in controversy with BA
Kistiakovsky. In Ukrainophilism XIX century laid the foundation for the subsequent
confrontational ideology, ethnic and cultural principles of constructivism and justified
the practice of repression of the Russian language in the area of cultural alienation.

the author considers the notion “cognitive” and “cognition”. Scientists argue about the
scope of cognitive linguistics in cognitive science. It concentrates on the history of
cognitive science to find the place of linguistics in this respect. To do this is not easy

history of cognitive linguistics we understand that there is a special niche for cognitive
