The paper considers the Italian digital economy and innovation as a factor in sustainable development. The author analyzes the national strategic documents of Italy, ongoing reforms, development trends of the IT market, problems and prospects of digitalization. The author concludes that, despite the unresolved problems, there are prerequisites for stable digital growth in Italy.
