Influence of positivistic philosophy and methodology on development of domestic university historical science, history philosophy at a boundary of the 19-20th centuries is covered in article. Identity of creative search of the Russian historians which hasn't gone on the way of mechanical loan of the positivistic ideas, and has developed own realistic program of development of domestic historical science, her realization in the Russian universities is noted.
