      <abstract xml:lang="en">
        <p>This article is devoted to the description of the results of the content’s analysis of
the two largest Soviet printed media periodicals daily Central newspapers «Pravda»
and «Izvestia» in the period from 1937 to 1945, in order to reflect the events of Sino-
Japanese war. It is concluded that the reflection of the events of the Sino-Japanese war,
the tone and nature of publications in the Soviet periodical press complied with
general political culture of the USSR in 1930–1940's and its incident to information
model. Soviet media only partly covered the real political situation only in a small
extent. The images of China created by media have more to do with foreign policy of
the Soviet government and the ensuing tasks than with the real situation.</p>
