Svyatoslav Sergeevich Lavrov (12.03.1923 – 18.06.2004) D.Sci. (Tech.), Professor, corresponding member of RAS, Lenin prize-winner was a member of Sergei Korolev’s initial team of engineers. Later he became Deputy Chief of the Design Department at OKB-1, specializing in ballistics. Lavrov served as Director of the Institute of Theoretical Astronomy and later Counsellor to Director at the Institute of Applied Astronomy in St. Petersburg.
