The article covers the work of The Sydney Balalaika orchestra of Russian music. As part of this amateur team, along with representatives of the Russian community of Australia and Australians play the representatives of other ethnic communities in Australia. Despite its amateur status, performances of the orchestra under conducting of music director V.Serghie are remarkable for high professional level. Concert activity "Balalaika" acquaints Australian society with treasures of Russian folk music and supports the rapprochement of the Russian and Australian peoples.
