The article is devoted to the disclosure of the concept of “negative” or “traumatic” heritage in relation to the cultural heritage. The authors produce analysis of the UNESCO practice on the inclusion of such type of heritage in the World Heritage List. Nowadays the «traumatic» heritage represents the type of heritage, which relates to the negative memories like, for example, wars, genocide, and mass killings. And in this context, there is a problem of their protection at the international level.
