The article examines the prospects for Russia's international policy on the basis of a conceptual model of sustainable development. According to the authors, the environmental imperative should become the vector for international relations. It is concluded that in the long term international relations are not only international cooperation in order to prevent an environmental crisis, but also a joint solution to the problem of ensuring sustainable development at the global level.
