<p>This article discusses the perception of the Second world war and in particular the
war against the USSR, by the German writers of the Third Reich period, who
expressed the official point of view (E. E. Dwinger, G. Baumann, Schumann) and the
attitude of opposition (H. Lange, M. Raschke) concerning the ideology of the ongoing
war (the liberation of Europe from Bolshevism and colonization of Russia), and
showed the relation to the methods of warfare and to the Russian people as a nation.
