The paper deals with the philosophical and historical concept of the famous historian, academician Robert Yuryevich Vipper (1859-1954). Identifies the main areas of his philosophy of history: the theory of historical knowledge, the critique of historical concepts, the theory of historical progress, the theory of the historical cycle. It is noted that the philosophical views R.Y. Vipper was strongly influenced empiriocriticism.
