        <p>The article provides brief overview of contemporary Russian and Chinese historiography on the matters of nationalism in late XIX – early XX century China. The article evaluates tendencies which took place in Soviet literature, also giving examples of translations of sources into Russian; provides outline of works by modern Russian historians and sinologists; follows the trends of research in the last years’ PRC; and defines the areas for future studies of China’s nationalist ideologies.</p>
