      <abstract xml:lang="en">
        <p>The report deals with the historical transformations of reception and scientific understanding
of technical reality in the context of the First World War and it’s consequences.
The author considers conceptual contradictions in a post-war discourse of
technique. The ambiguity of perception technology, growing doubts about the technical
human activity in the first quarter of XX century are demonstrated on the background
of widespread popularity of technicism and technocratic systems concepts.</p>
