The article eliminates the experience of development and tuition of the course “Australian Commonwealth as a Regional Power” for the master program “Pacific Studies” in St Petersburg State University. The purpose and content of the course are analyzed and sources and special literature recommended to the students are specified. It is noted that the study of the course allows the students to learn about the history and present situation of the Commonwealth of Australia, and to identify the role and place of this country in the Asia-Pacific region and in the international context on the whole.
