The article considers the image of Russia in Finland and its influence on decision making policy in defining the policy of the country in reference to its Eastern neighbor. The image of Russia in Finland, its evolution in the scientific society and the Finnish Mass Media is thoroughly examined. The role of history in the contemporary Finnish-Russian relations is analyzed.
